I first ran into User:Ermeyers at meta when I went over there from Wikipedia to talk about communitas! - the spirit of community. He was there promoting perl.wikia.com fairly heavily and getting in trouble all over the place. It was kindof funny, because a lot of us 'pedians do that when we first arrive. Wikipedia has a lot of peer-pressure to become this "perfect" thing. When wikipedia becomes "finished", it will be a sad day for the Internet.
Wikiversity is a pretty cool concept, though and It's just now kicking off. I believe Wikia has a long future about it too. People just need to realize it's like a locomotive trying to get up to speed. You have to focus and stay with it to make things happen with all of the scattered and fleeting user interest-bases and specialties.
